The Peace River & District Chamber of Commerce has announced Katherine Schmidt as the grande prize winner of the $2,500 Passport to Christmas Local Shopping Spree.
The grand prize draw was held on December 16 and conducted by Peace River & District Chamber of Commerce President Layne Gardner. The draw was shared publicly on the Chamber’s Facebook page.
The Chamber’s annual Passport to Christmas campaign is designed to encourage residents to support local businesses throughout the holiday season. During the draw, Gardner expressed appreciation for both participating businesses and community members who chose to shop locally.
“It goes a long, long way in our community for people to be supporting local businesses,” Gardner said.
This year’s Passport to Christmas promotion ran from November 3 to December 13. Shoppers collected stamps in their passports by making purchases at participating area businesses. Each completed passport earned an entry into one of two prize draws.
In addition to the grand prize, an early bird draw for a $500 Local Shopping Spree was held on November 28 during the River Country and KIX FM Stuff A Bus Fundraising Event.
The Peace River & District Chamber of Commerce thanks all participating businesses and residents for helping make the annual holiday shopping campaign a continued success.
