Alberta Environment and Protected Areas has officially ended the Ice Advisory for the Peace River near the Town of Peace River.
Officials say the river’s ice front has now fully passed through the community and is continuing to advance upstream of the Shaftesbury Ferry.
Despite the advisory being lifted, residents are being urged to continue practicing caution around the river. Authorities warn that ice conditions can remain unpredictable and dangerous.
The public is reminded to stay off the ice and keep a safe distance from the riverbanks.
