Valleyview RCMP have two in custody after recovering a stolen vehicle and other stolen items west of Sturgeon Lake.
Two men from Grande Prairie face numerous charges, and are due in court this week. - The Town of Peace River is monitoring activities with the snow and with the river itself to limit issues during the melting process.
Ponding and pooling may occur because of blocked sewer drains and residents are encouraged to contact Public Works to report it. - The Valleyview Ag. Society has received funding for a new Greenview Regional AgriPlex in town.
The funding was presented by Central Peace-Notley MLA Todd Loewen through the Government’s Community Facility Enhancement Program. - Peace River School Division trustees received an enrollment update on the Division’s smallest rural schools at their latest board meeting.
- The town and Big Lakes County are hosting a couple of Economic Development Open Houses to gather input and spur growth, economically in the Region.
The events are tonight at 6pm at the Gordon Buchanan Performing Arts Center, and tomorrow morning at 9:30 at the Senior’s Center in Kinuso. - A new political party has emerged in Alberta, the Progressive Tory Party.
Former UCP cabinet minister Peter Guthrie is the leader of the party, he says it’s been a “wild ride” to get to this point. - Alberta Premier Danielle Smith is calling on Ottawa to further speed up its approval process for major projects, saying she wants to see applications green-lit within six months.

- Four Canadian teams are in action, as part of nine games in the NHL tonight. Edmonton is Chicago, Vancouver is in Montreal, and Toronto is in Colorado.

- Fishing season has set into the Peace and Big Lakes, as a chinook has settled.
Mild temps, sunny skies, and windy conditions are forecasted, while the Mackenzie deals with a mixed bag of precipitation of snow, rain and a possibility of freezing rain.
The warmest day of the week will be Wednesday, with highs near 10 degrees in the Peace, before cooling off to around zero for the rest of the week.
