A jury trial has been scheduled for Sara Dawn Aleisha Kappo, a 37-year-old Red Deer resident, accused in the 2023 death of 36-year-old Aaron Bellcourt on the Sturgeon First Nation.
The trial is set for November 16 to 25, 2026, at the Grande Prairie Court King’s Bench.
Her co-accused, 32-year-old Teyanna Angel Rae Kappo and 24-year-old Dallas Goodswimmer, both from Valleyview, are scheduled for arraignment on February 2, 2026.
The charges stem from an incident on November 8, 2023, when Valleyview RCMP responded to an assault report; Bellcourt later died from his injuries, leading to first-degree murder charges against the three individuals.
