  1. Red Earth Creek RCMP have two people from Slave Lake in custody, after a search warrant on the Peerless Trout reserve.
    Over $50,000 worth of goods were recovered, including a motor home and a quad.

  2. RCMP in Northwestern Alberta are continuing to ask motorists to be wary of ever-changing weather and road conditions.
    This after news of a seven-vehicle pile-up, south of Swan Hills on Tuesday afternoon.

  3. The Town of High Level has ordered a review, after compliance gaps were found in Water Treatment System reports.
    Officials are maintaining at this time that the drinking water is safe to consume, as the issues are administrative, and do not involve the water quality.

  4. The town of High Level is assessing the future of the Aquatic Center in town.
    Specifically, a facility assessment is being conducted to evaluate the building’s current condition and identifying a path forward to restore aquatic services to the community.
    The pool has been closed because of failure in the HVAC heating system.

  5. The first of the Recall petitions put forward against Provincial Government MLA’s are having results come in.
    The petition against Education Minister Demetrios Nicolaides has been declined, due to insufficient signatures.

  6. The Northland School Division is bringing students together through sport with the return of the Moose Cup Floor Hockey Challenge, tomorrow at Gift Lake School.
    Teams are divided into three age categories for the friendly competition, that begins with opening ceremonies at 9am.
  7. The draws are set for the Canadian women’s Curling Championships that start this weekend in Mississauga Ontario.
    Nampa’s Kayla Skrlik plays her first draw on Saturday afternoon against Krista Scharf of Thunder Bay.

  9. Four Canadian teams are in action, as part of an 8-game NHL schedule tonight.
    Pittsburgh is in Edmonton, Florida is in Winnipeg, Ottawa is in Nashville, and Buffalo is in Montreal.
  10. A mix of sun and cloud is forecasted for this afternoon in the Northwest.
    Highs are hanging around -20, with tonight having a few clouds and lows nudging -30.
    Frostbite is a continued advisory, as wind chill factors are into play as well.
