
Local bowlers delivered strong performances at the Open 5 Pin Bowling Zone Championships held this past weekend (January 24 and 25) in Grande Prairie, earning spots at the upcoming provincial competition.
Peace River’s Bonnie Olson topped the ladies division with a first-place finish, securing her place at provincials in both the singles competition and as a member of the ladies team. She will be joined on the ladies team by fellow local qualifier Jessica Dubrule.
On the men’s side, Dustin Thompson finished second overall, advancing to provincials where he will compete in singles and as part of the men’s team.
All three bowlers play out of the Luck Strike Bowling Alley in Peace River and will represent the North Zone at the Open 5 Pin Provincial Bowling Championships taking place April 1 to 4 in Red Deer.
