The Town of Falher is addressing concerns and providing an update on continued challenging community road conditions after a number of resident inquiries.
In the update posted on the Town’s Facebook page, the Town says crews were focused on clearing roads and snow piles around schools during last week’s teacher’s convention, followed by grading later in the week to reduce snow and ice buildup. With warmer temperatures this week, crews are now addressing slippery conditions by removing snow and ice closer to the road surface, sanding intersections, and using an ice breaker to improve traction ahead of further removal work.
To help in the clearing process, the Town is asking residents to avoid street parking for the remainder of the week to allow crews full access to roadways. Residents are also asked to bring garbage cans in as soon as possible after pickup on Thursday, which is both garbage day and the warmest day scheduled for grading.
Town officials say community cooperation is appreciated as road maintenance efforts continue.
