Alberta Justice has announced that one of the four individuals charged in connection with a 2024 shooting incident at a High Level convenience store has received a community-based sentence.

On February 2, 2026, in High Level court, Joey Nanooch pleaded guilty to three weapons charges and one count of possession of a controlled substance.

He was sentenced to an 18-month conditional sentence order.

The charges stem from a June 27, 2024, incident where High Level RCMP responded to reports of multiple shots fired at a local convenience store.

Witnesses reported two vehicles fleeing the scene.

A subsequent traffic stop led to the arrest of all occupants and the seizure of cocaine, a loaded prohibited firearm, ammunition, and brass knuckles.

Among the other accused, Cornell D’Or pleaded guilty to firearms charges in August 2025 and received a 913-day jail sentence, with 410 days credited for time served.

Patrick Nanooch pleaded guilty to one charge in February 2025 and was fined.

Charges against the fourth individual, Kassidy Sewepagaham, were withdrawn in March 2025.
