  1. From the RCMP’s Weekly Wanted File, police are searching for Trenton Donald Roger Smith.
    His last known whereabouts was Fort Vermilion, and he is wanted for activities in Fort Vermilion, Mackenzie County, La Crete, Hawk Hills and High Level.
  2. The future of L’Ecole Providence in McLennan is being discussed tonight with a community meeting, 6pm at the school.
    The purpose is to receive feedback and share information, related to the sustainability of the facility.
  3. High School students in the area got a chance to network with life after school at the annual Job Fair at Peace River High. (Gill McLeod interview in separate story)
  4. The Opening of Trade Show season starts today in Grande Prairie with the Peace Country Classic Agri-show. (Jason Anderson interview in separate story)
  5. The pending arrival of Spring means some outdoor rinks in the region, like in Grimshaw, are closing for the season. Check on-line for details.
  6. In Curling news, Nampa’s Kayla Skrlik states on social media that the team is going their separate ways.
    Skrlik was provincial champion in 2023 and 2025, and was a wildcard team at the Scotties in 2026.
  7. Five Canadian teams are in action, as part of a 14-game NHL schedule tonight.
    Edmonton is in Dallas, Calgary is in New Jersey, The Rangers are in Winnipeg, Nashville is in Vancouver, and Anaheim is in Toronto.
  8. Snow and chilly temperatures are in store for the Northwest this afternoon. Highs are in the minus teens, with lows tonight, maybe needing the block heater chord.
