As temperatures begin to climb across the Peace Region and rain is forecast for some areas, “Road Ban Season” is beginning to roll out.
The Municipal District of Greenview has announced that a road ban in their area will take effect today at 10am (Monday, March 16). The restrictions are being implemented as warmer conditions soften road surfaces, making them more susceptible to damage from heavy loads.
Under the order, all Greenview gravel roads—including the Forestry Trunk Road—will be limited to 75% axle weight in the absence of frost conditions. Gravel streets within the boundaries of Greenview hamlets are exempt from the restrictions. When frost conditions are present, roads will be permitted at 100% axle weight until further notice.
