The Alberta Electoral Boundaries Commission has completed a year-long review of the province’s electoral boundaries, and has submitted its final to the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly.
Justice Dallas K. Miller, Chair of the Commission, highlighted Alberta’s significant growth and evolving social landscape over the past eight years necessitating this comprehensive review.
Commission’s recommendations include the addition of two new constituencies, increasing the total from 87 to 89, to represent the province’s changing.
This involved over 30 public hearings across Alberta and nearly 2,000 written submissions from residents.
Justice Miller expressed gratitude to the thousands of Alberta residents, who contributed their feedback, emphasizing that their input was invaluable to the Commission’s work.
