Alberta Wholesale Trade Numbers

Numbers from Statistics Canada, showing total wholesale trade in Alberta has reached $7.2 billion in November, setting a new provincial record.  It’s also up eight percent when you compare numbers to last year, while values of sales to businesses in Alberta increased by 0.8 percent from October to November.  Nationally, they remained virtually unchanged; remaining at roughly $54 billion from October to November, but it was still seven percent higher year-over-year.  ATB Financial says after months of strong sales growth, the value of goods sold to retailers was expected to soften, especially since businesses’ inventories have been mounting.  However, they add a strong retail sector in Alberta’s likely the reason why we continue to see robust wholesale numbers.
