Alberta Serious Crimes Branch seek assistance in locating male wanted for 1st Degree Murder – Updated 2 Located

Peace River, Alta. – Following further investigation, on Sept. 26, 2022, at approximately 7:20 p.m., Brenon Gray was located in the community of Little Buffalo, Alta. He was taken into police custody without incident with the assistance of the Western Alberta District RCMP Crime Reduction Unit, Alberta RCMP Emergency Response Team, Police Dog Service, Air Services, Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit and the Peace Regional RCMP.

Peace Regional RCMP would like to advise residents that any other shelters in place issued by Woodland Cree First Nation are no longer needed. Peace Regional RCMP would like to thank area residents for their patience and understanding throughout the shelters in place.

No further information can be provided at this time and when further information can be provided an update will be issued.

Peace Regional RCMP advise residents of Cadotte Lake to shelter in place 

Correction – There will not be a Police Initiated Public Alert, however the shelter in place remains.

Peace River, Alta. – Peace Regional RCMP are advising residents in the Cadotte Lake area to shelter in place. Please stay inside your homes.

There have been reports that Brenon Blake Grey, who is wanted on a warrant for murder, is in the area. It is alleged that he is armed and may be travelling on a stolen quad.

Due to the imminent threat to the community, the RCMP will be issuing a Police Initiated Public Alert. Alberta RCMP are activating additional resources to protect the community and to search for Grey.

Alberta Serious Crimes Branch seek assistance in locating male wanted for 1st Degree Murder – Updated wanted poster

Peace River, Alta. – Alberta RCMP Major Crimes continue to investigate the First Degree Murder of Romeo Flett that occurred on July 26, 2022.

Despite extensive efforts, police have been unable to locate Brenon Blake Gray (30), a resident of Cadotte Lake First Nation, who is wanted for First Degree Murder. It is believed Gray may be in the Peace River area.

Brenon Blake Gray is described as:

  • 185 lbs
  • 5’8” tall
  • Brown eyes
  • Brown hair
  • Medium complexion
  • Facial tattoos

If you know the whereabouts of Brenon Gray, please contact Peace River RCMP at 780-624-6677 or your local police. If you see Gray, DO NOT APPROACH HIM and call 911 as he is considered armed and dangerous.

Alberta Serious Crimes Branch seek assistance in locating male wanted for 1st Degree Murder

Peace River, Alta. – On July 26, 2022 at approximately 9:30 p.m., Peace Regional RCMP were dispatched to a 911 call of a male who had been shot inside a residence on Cadotte Lake First Nation. The victim, Romeo Flett (35), a resident of Cadotte Lake First Nation, was flown by Air Ambulance to an Edmonton hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Brenon Gray (30), a resident of Cadotte Lake First Nation, is wanted for 1st Degree Murder. He is considered armed and dangerous.

Gray is described as:

  • 185 lbs
  • 5’4 tall
  • Brown eyes
  • Brown hair

Peace Regional RCMP have a heavy police presence in area of Cadotte Lake on Woodland Cree First Nation – Update 

Cadotte Lake, Alta. – Peace Regional RCMP have lifted the shelter in place for residents of Cadotte Lake on Woodland Cree First Nation that was put in place as a result of the July 26, 2022, firearms incident that is being investigated.

The 35-yr-old victim had been taken by air ambulance to an Edmonton area hospital at the time of this incident with serious life threatening injuries. The condition of the victim at this time is unknown.  

Peace Regional RCMP will continue to have a presence in the area as they continue to investigate this incident.

No further information can be released at this time.

Cadotte Lake, Alta. – On July 26, 2022, at 9:40 p.m., Peace Regional RCMP received a 911 call of a firearms complaint with an individua

l who had been injured at a residence in the area of Cadotte Lake area on Woodland Cree First Nation.

Peace Regional RCMP are asking residents in the area of Cadotte Lake on Woodland Cree First Nation to shelter in place as police investigate—unless otherwise directed by police.

RCMP are also asking the public to refrain from posting photos and video on social media.

No further information can be released at this time.
