Chateh RCMP seeking witnesses or information in suspected house arson on Dene Tha’ First Nation

Dene Tha’ First Nation, Alta.—On Sept. 22, 2022, at 5:37 p.m., Chateh RCMP received a 911 call of a house fire at a residence on Dena Tha’ First Nation.

Chateh RCMP was en route prior to the call as it was noted there was a large amount of smoke in the area. Dene Tha’ Fire Services attended the area and worked to extinguished the fire with the assistance of High Level Fire Services.

At this time, it is not believed anyone was physically injured as a result of the fire.

Chateh RCMP’s investigation indicates this house fire is believed to be suspicious and remains under investigation with the assistance of a fire investigator.
