This weekend will be a big one for bull riding as the PBR has their Peace Country Invitational event happening in Grande Prairie.
Nick Tetz is the top Canadian on the PBR tour, he says this event will be a big one for the competitors looking to be successful in the rest of the season.
“Getting to kick things off for the last half of the season in Grande Prairie is pretty cool. It’s always a great crowd and the bulls always come to buck. It should be some good bull riding and definitely important as far as the title race and for all the guys trying to make the finals.”
Tetz says he got “hooked” on the sport when he was a teenager.
“My godparents raised bucking stocks so I went out there for a couple of weeks to learn how to work and I ended up getting on a steer and got hooked. When I was 15 or 16 I was not maybe making a living but I was making more money than all of my friends going to all of the bull riding and rodeos during the summer and it felt pretty cool.”
The event happens at the Bonnetts Energy Centre on Friday and Saturday.
