Council Highlights (High Level & Manning)

High Level

  • High Level Town Council has narrowly voted in favor of writing off nearly $38,000 for the provincial government’s grants in place of taxes.
  • Council has approved $100,000 to the Museum Heritage Walk.
  • And they’ve approved a joint Application with the Native Friendship Center for the walk and the Cultural Park.
  • High Level Town Council has approved the notion of having a debt policy in place.
  • And they’ve also appointed Adam Kent, Michael Chandler, and Brian Wishak to the High Level Film Industry Task Force.

These decisions were made at a recent meeting on Tuesday.

Manning

  • The town of Manning has agreed to sponsor the 70th annual Battle River Rodeo to the tune of $2,500.
  • Council has also agreed to particpate in the BBQ at the annual Rosary Games, coming up in early June.
  • Also, Council has directed Administration to communicate with Trane Technologies to find solutions to have more heat generated over the Curling Surface. Trane did say in a letter that existing boilers, serving the hot-water loop, are sufficient.

These Decisions were made at their recent meeting on Wednesday.
