COVID-19 UPDATE: August 10

On August 10, Alberta Health Services confirmed 257 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 72 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 11,687.

It was also reported that five people passed away. 213 Albertans have now died from COVID-19.

In the North Zone, there are 658 cases of COVID-19 and 20 people have passed away.

There are currently 116 active cases in our zone with 54 cases in Mackenzie County.

AHS is reporting that 10,384 people have recovered from the virus.

This means that there are currently 1,090 active cases across Alberta.

To help slow spread or ease fear of catching COVID-19, the government recommends washing your hands for at least 20 seconds, and to avoid touching the face.
