COVID-19 Update: May 4

On May 4, Alberta Health Services confirmed 70 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 5,836.

It was also reported that nine people passed away, including one person in the Northern Zone.

104 Albertans have now died from COVID-19.

In the North Zone, there are 215 cases of COVID-19 and 15 people have passed away.

AHS is reporting that 2,942 people have recovered from the virus.

This means that there are currently 2,790 active cases across Alberta.

To help slow spread or ease fear of catching COVID-19, the government recommends washing one’s hands for at least 20 seconds, and to avoid touching the face.
