On May 8, Alberta Health Services confirmed 81 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 6,098.
It was also reported that a woman in her 80’s in the Calgary Zone passed away.
115 Albertans have now died from COVID-19.
In the North Zone, there are 227 cases of COVID-19 and 15 people have passed away.
AHS is reporting that 4,020 people have recovered from the virus.
This means that there are currently 1,963 active cases across Alberta.
To help slow spread or ease fear of catching COVID-19, the government recommends washing one’s hands for at least 20 seconds, and to avoid touching the face.
