COVID-19 UPDATE: November 9

On November 9, Alberta Health Services confirmed 644 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 34,160.

Six people passed away, which means 369 Albertans have now died from COVID-19.

In the North Zone, there are 2,450 cases of COVID-19 and 36 people have passed away.

There are currently 541 active cases in our zone with 29 in the MD of Peace, 25 in the MD of Fairview, 15 in the MD of Greenview, nine cases in Mackenzie County, five in Northern Sunrise County, while all other jurisdictions in our area have two active cases or less.

AHS is reporting that 25,826 people have recovered from the virus.

This means that there are currently 7,965 active cases across Alberta.

To help slow spread or ease fear of catching COVID-19, the government recommends washing your hands for at least 20 seconds, and to avoid touching the face.
