COVID-19 UPDATE: October 2

On October 2, Alberta Health Services confirmed 122 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 18,357.

Three people passed away over the last 24 hours, and 272 Albertans have now died from COVID-19.

In the North Zone, there are 1,454 cases of COVID-19 and 35 people have passed away.

There are currently 104 active cases in our zone with 11 cases in Mackenzie County.

AHS is reporting that 16,527 people have recovered from the virus.

This means that there are currently 1,558 active cases across Alberta.

To help slow spread or ease fear of catching COVID-19, the government recommends washing your hands for at least 20 seconds, and to avoid touching the face.
