COVID-19 UPDATE: September 23

On September 23, Alberta Health Services confirmed 143 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 16,032.

Two people passed away over the last 24 hours, and 260 Albertans have now died from COVID-19.

One of the fatalities was a person in Mackenzie County.

In the North Zone, there are 1,359 cases of COVID-19 and 35 people have passed away.

There are currently 155 active cases in our zone with 23 cases in Mackenzie County and 20 in the County of Northern Lights.

AHS is reporting that 15,252 people have recovered from the virus.

This means that there are currently 1,520 active cases across Alberta.

To help slow spread or ease fear of catching COVID-19, the government recommends washing your hands for at least 20 seconds, and to avoid touching the face.
