The Fairview and District Chamber of Commerce is grateful for the role local businesses play in the community. That’s according to chamber Executive Director, Chelsea Carter, who reminds us of Small Business Week.

According to Industry Canada, a small business is defined as one with fewer than 100 employees, and less than 500 thousand dollars in annual income. Carter says when you shop local, you support a business in the area, which is likely to hire people in the area. “They (business owners) keep money in our local economy, they support local jobs and we are encouraging our residents to shop locally.”

Carter says she personally thinks Fairview is a great place to work and play. “I moved here from Texas two-and-a-half years ago and this is where I’ve grown my roots. It’s an awesome town to be a part of.”
