Female facing charges after being pulled over by Fort Vermilion RCMP over the weekend

A 59-year-old woman is facing three charges after being pulled over by police officers this past Saturday.

At around 7:10 PM, an officer saw a vehicle being driven erratically on Highway 697 towards LaCrete.

According to officers, the driver was swerving and passing other vehicles at a high speed.

The driver was stopped and a search of the vehicle revealed a substance believed to be cocaine.

She was arrested and charged with:

  • Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Operate motor vehicle without holding subsisting operator’s licence

The suspect will be in Fort Vermilion provincial court on October 6 to respond to these charges.
