Alberta Environment and Parks has issued a High Streamflow Advisory for the Peace River.

It covers the section of the river from the Dunvegan Bridge to Fort Vermilion.

According to the advisory, flows along the river may rise between three and four metres.

That’s just over two meters higher than it was in mid June, but less than those recorded in 2011.

A campground upstream of the Town of Peace River may be affected as well.

The Town of Peace River says that town staff will be monitoring storm gates, their stormwater system, and river water levels over the next few days.
