Central Peace-Notley MLA Todd Loewen has some issues he wants to see addressed when the Legislature session begins next week.

Loewen tells the Trending 55 Newsroom that he’ll be “standing up for rural Alberta.”

“The situation with vaccine passports and things like that and how it’s affecting different groups of people like police officers and nurses and things like that, obviously we can’t put ourselves in a situation where we’re creating more problems by implementing some of these things. We definitely need to put a little more thought into making sure we don’t run ourselves short on different groups of people that we depend on to protect all Albertans.”

Another one of his priorities is working with the new health minister Jason Copping on addressing rural healthcare shortages.

“We did find a few small steps in the right direction here just recently on some of those shortages, but obviously this is a chronic problem and it needs to be dealt with. I’ll be looking forward to working with the new minister and hopefully we can get some solution to that.”

We talked in detail with Loewen about his legislature session priorities, you can hear that full interview below.
