Male dies in boating incident on the Peace River

Details are limited on the death of a male.

According to the Fairview RCMP, the detachment got a report around 9:15 PM on Tuesday about stranded boaters on the Peace River.

The Fairview Fire Department and Spirit River RCMP joined the rescue effort and a group of four people were found.

One male was critically injured and despite the best efforts of EMS personnel, he passed away.

This incident is under investigation, and an autopsy will take place in Edmonton at a later date.

The RCMP did not release any information on the man who died, or any of the other people.
