Bridge Funding
Council reviewed funding applications for bridge repairs at SW 8-82-25-W5, NW 13-83-23-W5, and SE 33-80-26-W5. Council directed Administration to submit the funding applications under the Strategic Transportation Infrastructure Program.

Council reviewed and approved updates and amendments to the following Public Works Policies:

Meeting with Peace River School Division
Council reviewed a request from the Peace River School Division (PRSD) to attend their annual joint municipalities meeting on February 5, 2025. The meeting includes the PRSD Board of Trustees and local municipalities in the PRSD catchment area. Council passed a motion authorizing the attendance of all councillors at the annual joint municipalities meeting.
Enabling Housing Choice North Project Research Initiative
Council approved the MD of Peace’s participation in the Enabling Housing Choice North Project research initiative in partnership with the Lac Cardinal Regional Economic Development Board which also includes the Town of Grimshaw and the Village of Berwyn. This two-year initiative aims to explore and address barriers that restrict diverse housing development.
Peace Region Municipal Councils Meeting
Council directed Administration to advise the Regional Energy Committee (REC) that the MD of Peace Council is in favor of a joint meeting. The meeting would include the full councils involved in the REC to discuss air and bus transportation options in the region.
Peace Regional Subdivision and Development Appeal Board
Council approved the reappointment of members and the clerk to the Peace Regional Subdivision and Development Appeal Board. Members are reappointed annually by the Councils of all member municipalities for a three-year term.
Wireless Issues
Council directed Administration to research options for improving wireless connectivity at the MD of Peace Administration Office.
