Nampa’s Tyrell Boucher is now into his second season of playing college hockey at Northern Michigan University.

Boucher only got to play in 10 games last season because of a leg injury and says rehabbing that injury took up most of his off-season.

“It was a lot different than a normal summer. I had a lot more physio and rehab to do so I wasn’t able to do the exercises that I normally do because I had to take care of my leg. I moved down to Calgary to train down there for the better resources for rehab and that kind of stuff.”

Northern Michigan University is located in Marquette, MI and Boucher says the community there reminds him of the Peace Country a bit.

“I think it’s about 30,000 people so a bit bigger than Peace River but it reminds me a lot of Peace River. It’s a very close knit community, it’s right on Lake Superior. There’s beautiful scenery, there’s hikes, the beach, diving rocks, there’s lots to do here. It’s very nice and I would definitely suggest that if people want to travel somewhere for a visit, here’s a good place.”
