The North Peace Navigators of the NWJHL are getting ready for their spring camp next weekend.

Head Coach and GM of the Navs, Jody Messna, says since they had a young team this season, they’re looking at returning quite a number of players for next season.

“There’s no doubt we had a young team this year, so that’s definitely going to be a factor and hopefully those guys that are returning with a year under their belt can hopefully provide some guidance or leadership with the new guys coming onto the team here in the fall.”

Messna says there’s some things they’d like to have on their team for next season.

“We’ll definitely need to replace the four overagers that we lost this year (Robert Lemay, Chris Key, Phoenix Dumas and Jonathan Noskey). They’re definitely going to be some huge holes to fill, and then add some experience. I’d like to see us be more of an aggressive hockey team, on the puck especially. I think we need to adapt some of our styles to accomplish that.”

The Navs spring camp gets underway on April 1 at the Baytex Energy Centre.
