
The North Peace Hockey League is getting ready for next season.
The league held their AGM where it was decided that the season will start on October 18.
There will also be a new team in the league with the Fox Creek Knights getting approved for next season.
Fox Creek does have some previous experience with senior hockey, the community had a team in the North Central Hockey League between 1995 and 2009.
The Knights will play in the East Division along with Valleyview, Falher and Manning.
Meanwhile the High Prairie Regals application to return to the league was rejected.
The Regals have not played in the NPHL since November of 2019.
The team folded after being fined $1,000 for playing a game against the Manning Comets with five skaters and a goalie.
The game was stopped after the second period after one of the players was injured and the game was played 4-on-4 for part of the second period.
The score was 12-0 in favor of Manning when the game was called.
High Prairie does have a long history with the NPHL, the Regals have won 13 league titles, tied with Grimshaw for the most.
