Peace River Town Council has recently sent letters of support for the Sagitawa Friendship Centre. The town says they really appreciate all the work the centre does. Mayor Tom Tarpey calls the centre the boy scouts, girl guides and the boys and girls clubs all wrapped up into one. Tarpey adds the centre does a tremendous job providing very positive programs for kids. He says while the target demographic is aboriginal youth, he says the centre welcomes everybody of all ages. He says the centre also provides workforce training for young people entering the workforce.
