The Province has announced $2 million expansion into their Post-Secondary Inclusive Education Program.

Minister of Community and Social Services Jason Luan says that there are two parts to this program.

“One is through Inclusion Alberta and other partners that will provide personal support to people with developmental disabilities so that they can attend post-secondary education. The other component of that program is called the advanced education transitional vocational program which is a one year program focusing on employment rediness and skills training.”

Luan was on the Trending 55 Hot Seat and says it’s part of a commitment to help more people reach their educational goals and prepare for the workforce.

“Our government is wanting to make sure that while opportunity is available for others who are without disability barriers can participate in advanced education and job opportunities, we want to make sure that people with disabilities can equally access them.”
