RCMP Investigating Property Crimes Throughout Mackenzie

Fort Vermilion RCMP say they’re investigating a string of property Crimes that have happened throughout Mackenzie County over the last week.

The first incident was a break-in happened on either Wednesday night or Thursday morning at the Trading Post Thrift Shop in Fort Vermilion. Suspect(s) gained entry into the community donations shed where several items were stolen. As a result, these items will no longer be available for the recent flood victims of the Fort Vermilion region.

On either Thursday night or Friday morning. Someone drove a Silver Ford F150 pickup truck onto the property of the Hill Crest Community School in Blumenort causing damage throughout.

The last incident happened either on Friday night or Saturday morning. Multiple eggs were thrown at the exterior of the Heimstaed Lodge Assisted Living Facility in La Crete. Employees of the Facility believe this may have been a result of community frustration, due to the recent COVID-19 restrictions in place on visitation of residents.
