Lesser Slave Lake MLA Pat Rehn says he’s excited to be back in the UCP caucus.

He spent several months sitting as an Independent MLA after concerns were raised about him not being present in the riding, and Rehn says he heard his constituents “loud and clear” on that front.

“Definitely I have been in the constituency a lot over the last six months. I’ve heard from a lot or grassroots people on what their concerns are in the constituency and I’m trying to make sure the Alberta government is aware of them and knows what we need for our constituency.”

We talked to him about his priorities for the region and he mentioned some issues around High Prairie that he wants to see addressed.

“There’s some flooding issues North of High Prairie that we’re trying to deal with. We’ve got roads, we’ve got medical issues with doctors and nurses in High Prairie along with the helipad. We are working on the demolition of the old hospital, we’ve got approved for funding so we’re trying to follow up on that.
