There is a wildfire moving northwest towards the Snipe Lake Area. Since there is the potential for danger to life and health, Big Lakes County has issued an evacuation alert for Gilwood south and west Banana Belt residents from Highway 749 west to Range Road 190 and Township Road 730 south to Township Road 714.
If you are in the following areas, you must prepare to evacuate. The areas involved are as follows:

Livestock Producers, please consider marking your animals in a unique way. If you have access to discing equipment, please start creating fire breaks around your property. Wet down buildings and bale stacks. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Big Lakes Agricultural Fieldman at 780-523-8249.
