A Spirit River hockey player is making the most of his college hockey experience.

Brandon Wells goes to Plattsburgh State in New York and says his school work has landed him with a unique opportunity.

“My major is sports management and marketing and taking a business minor as well and a coaching minor. I got an internship with an NHLPA certified agency this semester. It’s done remotely with an agency in Penticton, BC called Kaizen Sports and Entertainment. I’ve been doing that with them and it’s going good so far.”

Plattsburgh State is a Division 3 school in upstate New York, we asked Wells about what the community is like there.

“We’re up in the Adirondacks so it’s more of a forest and mountains area. Lake Placid is 45 minutes away where the 1980 Olympics were, we normally enjoy. going up there and spending some time up there. We’re also only an hour away from Montreal just across the border, but with the border being closed its been tough but we used to be able to spend some days in Montreal.”
