  1. Recent warm weather in the Peace region has caused pooling on the roads in some areas.
    Crews are working to drain pools on the road. Contact the jurisdiction, if you spot one.
  2. Peace River and High Prairie are enhancing their recycling programs.
    In Peace River, Circular Materials, operated by the province, will be running the program, starting next week.
    High Prairie is in the process of moving to the same-type program.
  3. The Provincial Government is providing $10 million dollars towards the Aboriginal Business Investment Fund.
    The fund is to help Indigenous businesses buy or upgrade the equipment and infrastructure needed to create jobs and contribute to communities.
  4. A student from Falher has been selected for the trip of a lifetime.
    Adelle Levesque is one of twenty students from across the country, to participate in the 2025 Vimy Pilgrimage Award.
    The programs provides youth, aged 15-17 the opportunity to explore historic sites and to travel to France to pay their respects at the Canadian National Vimy Memorial.
  5. The Alberta government has introduced a bill that aims to change how the province’s auto-insurance system handles injury claims to try to reduce rates.
    The new system would be put in place in January 2027 and replace the tort-based one, in which those injured in an accident can seek compensation through legal means.
  6. Alberta Premier Danielle Smith’s office is refuting claims of election interference after comments she made on a right-wing American radio show earlier this month.
    Smith said she had conversations with members of the Trump administration, asking them to consider bringing a halt to tariff talk during the election period.
    The NDP accused the premier of foreign interference in the legislature, yesterday.
  7. AJHL playoffs tonight… Game 3 – Grande Prairie is in Lloydminster, the Storm lead 2-0.
  8. Five Canadian teams hit the ice in the NHL tonight, as part of a ten-game schedule.
    Seattle is in Calgary, Washington is in Winniepg, Ottawa is in Buffalo, Philidelphia is in Toronto, and Montreal is in St. Louis.
  9. Meanwhile, the Edmonton Oilers will be continuing without their two top guys for at least the rest of this week.
    Head Coach Kris Knoblauch says Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl won’t play at all in the team’s three games this week. The Oilers play at home to Dallas, tomorrow.
  10. Lots of sunshine and warm temperatures are happening in the Northwest this afternoon. Highs are around 10 degrees, except for just above freezing in the Mackenzie.
    Lows tonight will be comfortable, at around -5 to -10. However, precipitation in the form of rain and snow is scheduled for tomorrow night and into Thursday.
