The Town of Peace River will implement the Provincial Restrictions Exemption Program (REP) for some Town operated recreation and culture facilities. This will provide us the opportunity to resume previous service levels, to continue to offer regular programming and operate at full capacity.
Facilities operating under the Restriction Exemption Program include:
+ Athabasca Hall
+ Baytex Energy Centre
+ Family Resource Network
+ Peace Regional Pool
What does this mean?
Under REP the following will apply:
(Masking requirements and social distancing remain in effect throughout all Town of Peace River facilities)
The following guests are not required to show proof of vaccination, medical exemption or negative rapid COVID-19 test within 72 hours of entry:
+ Children under 12 years
+ Youth aged 12-17 who are directly participating in activities or organized sport (ie. Swimming, swimming lessons, drop-in basketball, hockey etc.)
+ Employees, contractors, repair workers, delivery workers, coaches/instructors, volunteers, inspectors or others who are entering the business/entity/event for work purposes and not as patrons are not required to be screened.
The following guests/visitors/spectators are required to show proof of vaccination, medical exemption or negative rapid COVID-19 test (within 72 hours of entry):
+ Adults 18 years and over to access the facility for any purpose.
+ Youth 12-17 years who are visiting the facility as spectators or to use the common areas or concourse.
What will be accepted?
Proof of Vaccination:
+ Sept. 27 to Oct. 25: proof of a single dose is considered acceptable as long as the dose was given more than 2 weeks prior to facility access.
+ After Oct. 25: proof of double vaccination is required.
Medical Exemption:
+ Original signed letter from a physician or nurse practitioner
Proof of Negative rapid COVID-19 test (taken within 72 hours of entry):
+ Tests must be Health Canada approved rapid antigen, rapid PCR or lab-based PCR test
+ Tests must be privately-paid, and cannot be from Alberta Health Services or Alberta Precision Laboratories.
