Wheatbelt Baseball League Season Preview

The Wheatbelt Baseball League is back!

After being unable to play last season because of the health restrictions around COVID, the league will begin the regular season on Wednesday. The five teams in the league, the Peace River Stampeders, Grimshaw Huskies, Manning Mets, Rycroft Rage and Grande Prairie Brewers will play two games against each opponent in the shortened regular season. The full schedule is as follows.

Wednesday June 16 – Grimshaw at Manning, 7:15 PM
Wednesday June 16 – Rycroft at Peace River, 7:15 PM
Monday June 21 – Manning at Rycroft, 7:15 PM
Tuesday June 22 – Peace River at Grimshaw, 7:15 PM
Wednesday June 23 – Rycroft at Grimshaw, 7:15 PM
Wednesday June 23 – Peace River at Manning, 7:15 PM
Sunday June 27 – Peace River at Grande Prairie, DOUBLEHEADER 12 PM and 4 PM
Monday June 28 – Grimshaw at Peace River, 7:15 PM
Wednesday June 30 – Grimshaw at Grande Prairie, 7:15 PM
Saturday July 3 – Grande Prairie at Grimshaw, 1 PM
Tuesday July 6 – Rycroft at Grande Prairie, 7:15 PM
Wednesday July 7 – Manning at Grimshaw, 7:15 PM
Friday July 9 – Rycroft at Manning, 7:15 PM
Monday July 12 – Manning at Peace River, 7:15 PM
Tuesday July 13 – Grande Prairie at Rycroft, 7:15 PM
Wednesday July 14 – Peace River at Rycroft, 7:15 PM
Friday July 16 – Grimshaw at Rycroft, 7:15 PM
Saturday July 17 – Grande Prairie at Manning, DOUBLEHEADER 11 AM and 3 PM

The playoff format will see the fourth and fifth place teams facing each other in a wild card game, the semifinals will be a best-of-five and the league championship will be a best-of-seven.
