Where have I been and where will the cruiser be this Saturday?

Hey everybody! Erika here, its been a few hectic weeks for us at the radio station as the wildfires were out of control and displaced many people. But since then many have been able to go home and rain prayers have been answered in quite a few places where the fires are.

No photo description available.Image may contain: one or more people, people standing, crowd and outdoorIn that time I attended many wildfire evacuee BBQ’s and met lots of very nice people that had been displaced from the fires. I also went to a donation drive for the evacuees and all the donations went up to the La Crete Reception Center! It was great to see all of the northern Alberta communities banding together to help out those that were and are still displaced, it makes me proud to be an Albertan that’s for sure!

Lots of people and lots of rodeo fun, since I am very big fan of rodeos to begin with, so it was an event that I looked forward to and it did not disappoint! I also went to Camp Day at Tim Horton’s in Peace River, buying a coffee or bracelet on Camp Day helps disadvantaged youth go to Tim Horton’s Foundation Camps at no cost to them or their family! 100% of the proceeds of all coffees and bracelets bought go towards helping kids be able to go to camp.

Where will I be heading this weekend?

Saturday, June 8th is jam packed full of activities to go and do around the region and I will be going to the following three events in the cruiser with FREE swag and FREE draws to enter!

You can catch me at:

  •  11am-1pm: Kids Can Catch at the Wilderness Park Ponds near Grimshaw. There will be a BBQ, refreshments and make sure to bring your fishing rod! If you don’t have a fishing rod, no worries there are ones to borrow on site. There will also be giveaways for young anglers as well!
  • 9th Annual LGBTQ2+ Pride Parade/Celebration. Starts at noon and on Main Street Peace River. The parade will end at Riverfront Park where there will be FREE food, music and a live performance! (map of parade route attached)
  • Farmers Day in Nampa’s Mill Brown Park (behind the museum) from 12-5pm; there will be a bouncy castle, dunk tank, face painting and much more!

If you have an event you want the cruiser at click here to send me an e-mail and I’ll try my best to be there!
