What’s the worst job you’ve ever had?
Personally, the worst job I had was a sales gig. It lasted one day. I applied for it via The Vancouver Sun newspaper. The requirements were: Must be able to smile. Must enjoy music. Have a basic knowledge of speaker systems. Must have a driver’s license. That was enough for me.
Turns out, I got the job during the interview. Then, I was teamed up with a ‘senior’ staffer. We proceeded to head out to mall parking lots and try to sell ‘dispatched’ home stereo speakers from the back of a van. To this day, I swear they were probably stolen from home electronics stores. After the abuse from shoppers in the parking lots – – I knew there was a reason for the smiles. I quit at the end of the day. “Warranty? What warranty?”
THIS could top it. How could you disguise the fact you’ve been hired to be a ‘dog food tester’? Eating dog food for a living?
An entry level position in the quality department would typically pay about $30,000 a year, while an ‘experienced professional’ could draw up to $75,000.
It pretty much involves tasting dog food to make sure it meets a premium brand’s exacting quality standards. Tasters regularly open sample tins of each freshly made batch of dog (or cat) food, and then proceed to smell it, and eat it.
NOT EVEN DURING A DRUNKEN SUPER BOWL PARTY! NO THANK YOU!
