The North Peace Navigators are getting ready for the start of their season.

The team held their training camp of the weekend and GM Mike Fosty says they’ll be a much younger team this season.

“There’s some good looking kids out there, we’re going to be young definitely just because of the way things worked out the last couple of years. We were heavy loaded on 20 year olds last year so we’re gonna go back to being a young team and there’s some work ahead but there’s some leadership in the room that’s going to pull these guys through.”

The NWJHL season will start on September 24, the Navs will be at home that night against the Grande Prairie Kings.

Fosty says they’d like to have full crowd at the Baytex Energy Centre.

“That’s one thing from last year with COVID being the limited number of fans and that sort of thing. September 24, Grande Prairie Kings are in town, come on out. We’d love to see this place full just to give the kids a big boost.”
