  1. An arrest has been made in connection with a homicide two weeks ago on the Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation.
  2. From the RCMP’s Weekly Wanted File, police are looking for Christopher Kidney Schellenberg.
  3. Lightning in the area is starting to cause issues for Wildfire fighters, as they try to gain the upper-hand on several blazes.
    A small fire northeast of Grouard, which started yesterday. Also, a blaze, southeast of the High Prairie Landfill was started yesterday morning.
  4. Big Lakes County has earmarked $160,000 to develop and sustain childcare services in High Prairie and Kinuso.
  5. Mackenzie County will have a different look on the ballot this fall. That’s because Wards 9 and 10 are becoming one ward.
  6. The Provincial Government has implemented a new 8% tax bracket for income up to $60,000, down from 10% previously.

    Highs this afternoon will be in the mid to high teens, with lows tonight around 10.
