Alberta RCMP have issued a province-wide alert after a 16-year-old died from a fake pill laced with a deadly opioid.
The counterfeit pills look like the anti-anxiety drug Xanax, but contain isotonitazene — a powerful, fatal opioid.
They’re grey, rectangular, marked “ONAX” on one side and “2” on the other.
RCMP urge parents to talk to teens and share photos of the pills. If you have information, contact police or call 310-RCMP.
