Mackenzie County has issued a public warning following recent unauthorized activity at buildings located within the Fort Vermilion flood plain — those properties that are now titled to the County.
In a notice released, the County reminds residents that these buildings are now private property and unauthorized access or removal of items is strictly prohibited. Offenders will face trespassing and/or theft charges.
Mackenzie County noted the buildings will be made available through a public auction in Spring or Summer of 2026.
