On September 9, 2025, RCMP officers from the Western Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit and High Prairie RCMP executed a search warrant at a property in Peavine, Alberta, uncovering a significant cache of stolen vehicles and firearms.

The search yielded four stolen pickup trucks, a stolen dirt bike, a stolen ATV, three flat deck trailers with removed vehicle identification numbers, four unlawfully possessed firearms, various firearm ammunition, and tools for cutting and stripping copper wire.

During the operation, 45-year-old Sheldon Sinclair arrived at the property but fled the scene.

RCMP have since obtained a warrant for his arrest on multiple charges, including flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failure to comply with a release order, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 (two counts), possession of property obtained by crime equal to or less than $5,000 (four counts), unsafe storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm (four counts), and obstructing police.

Authorities are urging anyone with information on Sinclair’s whereabouts to contact the High Prairie RCMP.
