  1. Last night’s Municipal Election results have some new faces present, some surprises and one complete overhaul.
  2. Peace Regional Police are looking for information into the fire at the Belle Petroleum Center last week.
    Authorities are deeming the fire to be suspicious, but no suspects have been seen in footage obtained thus far.
  3. Rohan Sylvain of L’Ecole Heritage in Falher is one of three recipients of the 2025 Paul Charbonneau Scholarship.
    The Scholarship is intended to encourage the pursuit of post-secondary education in French in a minority context in Canada, while highlighting academic success, leadership and community involvement.
  4. Small Business Week takes place to remind customers to Shop Local, and to appreciate the business they offer. (Sherry Crawford Interview in separate story)
  5. The Peace Regional SPCA and the Greater Peace Teachers reps of the Alberta Teacher’s Association are presenting Teachers, Tails and Trails.
  6. Four Canadian teams are in action in the NHL tonight… Edmonton is in Ottawa, Vancouver is in Pittsburgh, and New Jersey is in Toronto.
  7. NBA season starts tonight on two fronts. Houston is in Oklahoma City against the defending champion Thunder, and Golden State is in LA against the Lakers.
  8. The Toronto Blue Jays are still basking in the glow of George Springer’s home run in the seventh inning last night.
    For the third time in franchise history, the Jays will play in the World Series, which starts Friday in Toronto.
  9. Skies clear out this afternoon in the Northwest, and will continue to do so for the rest of the week. Highs are in double-digits, except for just 5 degrees in the Mackenzie.
    Lows tonight are below zero. Numbers might cool off this weekend.
