- An estimated three-quarters-of-a-million students are heading back to class this morning, after a three-week work stoppage.
- The head of Alberta’s teachers union says they will abide by a back-to-work order and will not engage in illegal actions such as work-to-rule.
- Last Tuesday, Police and the K-9 unit, arrested 35 year-old Frank Ross Whitehead of Peace River, in Cadotte Lake.
- The Alberta Government has honoured 18 individuals and businesses in the Province, for their work in supporting seniors, and that includes two from the Peace Region.
- Nicole Johnson was re-elected as Mayor in Berwyn by acclaimation, while Brian Carreau was elected as Deputy Mayor.
- The Provincial Government has established the 2025 Electoral Boundaries Commission.
- With the Teachers Strike now over, High School Football will begin to ramp up again. The teams in Peace River, High Prairie and Valleyview will begin to put out revised schedules for November.
- NWJHL tonight… North Peace is in Dawson Creek. The Navs are 7-5-2, the Kodiaks are 2-10-2.
- One game in the NHL tonight… Toronto is in Columbus.
- Game 5 of the World Series is tonight in Los Angeles, with the series tied at two wins each. Trey Yesavage starts for the Jays against Blake Snell.
- A potentially messy afternoon is in store for the Northwest today. Highs are just above freezing with rain, snow and/or freezing rain falling in the area.
Skies will clear, just before dawn tonight with chilly lows, at between zero and -10. Hallowe’en still has a chance at being wet for trick-or-treaters.
