  1. Manning RCMP have arrested two people in connection to a suspicious vehicle at an oil site in the County of Northern Lights.
    31 year-old Kalen Boulet, and 42 year-old Kevin Cassity face B&E, theft, and possesion charges.
  2. From the RCMP’s Weekly Wanted File, police are looking for Alexander Heming Carroll.
    His last known whereabouts was in Fairview, and is noted for activities in Edson, Fairview, Grande Prairie and Beaverlodge.
  3. Peace Regional police were busy in October, as they report that over 600 files were created during the month.
    Of those files, 21% of them were related to dangerous driving, failure to stop at collisions, and other vehicle related files. As well, nearly 180 tickets were issued, mostly because of speeding.
  4. The Dene Tha First Nation has declared a local emergency on its escalating mental health and addictions crisis.
    The Cheif is calling for help from the Provincial and Federal Governments fior funding and resources to provide prevention and recovery support.
  5. Town Council in Peace River has declined a motion to send a letter of support to the Sagitawa Friendship Society for its application to the Temporary Emergency Responses Measures (TERM) funding program.
  6. Alberta Premier Danielle Smith is offering details of the government’s plan to introduce legislation to let doctors choose to work in the public and private health systems simultaneously.
  7. The NWJHL is continuing their preparations for their all-star game, happening next weekend in FSJ. Complete rosters are expected in the coming days.
  8. Five Canadian teams are in action in the NHL for today. Edmotnon is in Tampa Bay, Dallas is in Vancouver, Columbus is in Toronto, Washington is in Montreal, and Ottawa is Anaheim.
  9. Mainly cloudy skies are in store for the Northwest this afternoon. Highs are still below zero, but will rise during the night.
    A partial 48-hour chinook is expected Friday and Saturday, especially in the Peace and Big Lakes, with digits above 5 degrees for the two days.
